This charming portrait may at one time have been a pair with a very similar anonymous oval portrait of a young child of almost identical format in a Private Collection which is equally dated 1628 and inscribed with the age of the young sitter, being 4,5 years old, described at the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie, Iconographisch Bureau under IB 39446 (fig. 1). The present portrait has been registered in the files of the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie, Iconographisch Bureau, no. 103250.
